Mountain Hardwear
So far this semester I have been involved in a number of projects
that represent the company and their corporate brand. There are
mainly 3 major projects that are ongoing and I will not be completed
with them until the end of the semester. The first project is the
design of the corporate profile. Homeboy, the president and founder
of the company, has put me solely in charge of designing a professional
looking folder and brochure that will be passed out to potential
clientele. It will contain literature about the company, which I
am also designing utilizing industry standard desktop publishing
software.
A rough copy of my design for the brochure is included in the back
of this report. Everything from concept to design to output has
been left on my shoulders, including meeting with the printer and
arranging all aspects of the project. The next project involves
the redesign of corporate newsletter instructions that are distributed
to clients. Project Keyboard is a consulting company that assists
large mountain hardwear corporations with facility relocation projects.
They communicate with the employees of these corporations through
newsletters that contain move instructions, arrival instructions,
and other important pieces of information. Often these pieces are
used by the employees in large Fortune 500 companies. I have been
put in charge of creating a template for these newsletters so that
information specific for each client can be easily inserted without
having to redesign an entire newsletter for each client.
Thus, after my mountain hardwear co-op experience is over, Project
Keyboard will have a professional looking template to use for their
future newsletters. The final project that I have been given is
the redesign of the company's website. This is my specialty! Currently
their site is a little outdated. I am planning on utilizing HTML,
JavaScript, and Macromedia Flash software along with a few other
leading software titles to create an entirely new site with a modern
look that will surely wow my supervisor and make Project Advantages'
competition envious. At the time of writing this report, I have
not yet begun the redesign of the site, but plan to by no later
than the first of November.
